I believe education must be rooted in firm principles and nurtured on right values. The harmonious and unique blend of "Science and Spirituality" is the foundation on which this institute stands. In a world where violence has replaced tolerance; terrorism has replaced peace; machines have replaced humans; caste and creed have replaced humanity, MIT's ethos of value based education , instilling a scientific spirit of mutual co-operation and character is the only saving grace. Today, Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) is recognised as one of the centres of academic excellence and we seek to reach newer heights of distinction.
Every effort that we have taken in the field of education is based on a deep rooted philosophy and so does our initiative on distance education. We believe that education knows no barriers of geography and should always be available, accessible and affordable to domestic / national and international aspirants. Subsequently, we opened a world-class centre of distance education, "MIT School of Distance Education" (MITSDE) in the year 2003.
The emphasis of MITSDE is to deliver quality education for individual learners as well as for institutional markets. The focus is to establish quality-study centres and attach them with learning centres within educational institutions: schools, colleges and other focussed education providers. The course is designed to meet the needs of the industry to help create and enhance employment and livelihood opportunities.
Through all our effort we endeavour to transform students into winning personalities and complete human beings. With an infrastructure, which meets international standards and a dedicated and committed faculty, I am confident the students of MITSDE as well as other institutions of MIT will be highly effective and competent and leave a mark of their services wherever they go.
So, as distance learning takes a new turn and education moulds itself into its new face, I wish best of luck and grand success to all the students of MITSDE.
